Claude Edward Hawk
MCCLURE - Claude Edward Hawk, 84, of McClure, died at 3:20 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2001, at Ohesson Manor, Lewistown, where he had been a resident for the past year. Born Oct. 25, 1916, in McClure, he was a son of the late Edward William and Iva Ailene (Fox) Hawk. His wife, Julia (Snook) Hawk, whom he married May 17, 1938, survives. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Jack L. (Gloria E.) Wagner and Mrs. Gerald H. (Harriet K.) Botdorf, both of McClure and William "Baird" Hawk, Beaver Springs RR1; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Wagner. He graduated from McClure High School in 1934 and also received a credit certificate from the machine department of Essex County Vocational School, Newark, NJ, in blueprint reading. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II, having served as a Seaman Guard and received an honorable discharge in 1945. Earlier in life, he worked at Lonicera Farms, Douglasville, Essex County Dairy, Cedargrove, NJ and FMC, Lewistown. He retired in 1980 from Avtex Fibers, Lewistown. He also served several years on the McClure Municipal Authority. He was a member of Mt. Bethel United Church of Christ, where he served several years on the church council and taught the young boys for several years. He was also a member of the McClure Fire Company; F&AM Masonic Lodge 619, Middleburg, where he was a Past Master; the Harrisburg Consistory; and the Zembo Shrine. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and checkers, golfing, growing shrubbery and Christmas trees, and loved family get-togethers. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Bethel United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Donald Wise officiating. Interment will be in the McClure Union Cemetery. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. today at the McClure chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, North Brown Street, McClure, where the family will be present from 7-9 p.m. A masonic service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: Mt. Bethel United Church of Christ, McClure, PA 17841; Sun Home Health, PO Box 232, Northumberland, PA 17857; or to Ohesson Manor, 276 Green Ave. ext., Lewistown, PA 17044-1699.

Fred H. Hayes
LEWISTOWN - Fred H. Hayes, 86, of 200 Eighth St., Highland Park, Lewistown, died at 11:22 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born March 15, 1915, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Paul R. and Mollie L. (Brininger) Hayes. His wife, Alma K. (Henry) Hayes, died in October of 1974. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Dick (Dorothy L.) Wagner of 60 Long Drive, Lewistown. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul D. Hayes and Chester E. Hayes. He was a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy Sea Bees during World War II. He was employed by FMC Division of the American Viscose Corporation, retiring in 1972. He was a member of the Lewistown Presbyterian Church. He was also a life member of the BPOE Lodge 663, Lewistown and a member of Camp Rayona's Supervisor Club. Service and committal will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery. There will be no viewing. Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

Paul D. Hayes
MILROY - Paul D. Hayes, 75, of 95 Broad St., Milroy, died at 10:38 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born March 11, 1925, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Paul R. and Mollie L. (Breininger) Hayes. His wife, Marjorie M. (Treaster) Hayes, whom he married July 31, 1947, survives. Also surviving are: a son, Stephen Lewis Hayes, Lewistown; brother and sister, Fred H. Hayes and Dorothy Wagner, both of Lewistown; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Chester "Pete" Hayes on Oct. 15, 1999. He was a graduate of Lewistown High School. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He retired after 25 years as a manager with A&P Foods in Lewistown and Burnham. He also worked as a manager at Empire Kosher outlet. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Rev. Edward P. Fleming Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Beulah M. Heimbach
BEAVER SPRINGS - Beulah M. Heimbach, 88, of Penn Lutheran Village, formerly of Beaver Springs RR1, died at 5:35 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2001, at Penn Lutheran Village. Born Dec. 10, 1912, in Spring Township, Snyder County, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Cora A. (Steininger) Heimbach. She was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Heimbach, and a sister, Esta Heimbach. She was employed by the former Davis Manufacturing in Beaver Springs for 23 years. Earlier in life she worked at the former Dress Factory in Selinsgrove and the former Bubb Garment Manufacturing. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, the church Sunday school class, and a member of the Women of the Evangelical Church of America. She was a member of the Beaver Springs Fire Company Auxiliary and the former Beavertown Grange. Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Beavertown chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, with the Rev. Donald Nice officiating. Interment will be in the Black Oak Ridge Cemetery II, McClure RR2. There will be no viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, Troxelville, PA 17882.

Donnie G. Heimbaugh
SPRING VALLEY, CA - Donnie G. Heimbaugh, 66, of Spring Valley, CA, formerly of Milroy, died Aug. 30, 2001, in Spring Valley, CA. Born Nov. 21, 1934, in Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Asher and Carrie (Wagner) Heimbaugh. His wife, Dorothy (Rastella) Heimbaugh of Spring Valley, CA, survives. Also surviving are: children, Donnie A. Heimbaugh, Daniel C. Heimbaugh and Doris Harman; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and four sisters. He served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and was a member of the Naval Aviation Depot, North Island, San Diego, CA. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy, with the Rev. Brad Williams officiating, where military services will be held by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown. There will be no viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to: VFW Post 7011, 11 Chestnut St., Lewistown, PA 17044. Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

Carl Edward 'Pap' Heintzelman
SELINSGROVE - Carl Edward "Pap" Heintzelman, 83, formerly of Liverpool RR1, died at 1:40 a.m. Sunday, April 22, 2001, at the Penn Lutheran Village Nursing Home, Selinsgrove, where he was admitted Saturday from Sunbury Community Hospital. Born Oct. 7, 1917, in Port Trevorton, RR1, Snyder County, he was a son of the late William Nelson and Maggie Edna (Brown) Heintzelman. He is survived by his wife, Flossie Ruth (Dietz) Heintzelman, with whom he celebrated his 59th wedding anniversary last Wednesday. Also surviving are: two sons, Wayne W. Heintzelman, Shermans Dale and Paul E. Heintzelman, Selinsgrove; two daughters, Barbara C. Herrold and Maggie J. Sholley, both of Port Trevorton RR1; a brother, Norman Heintzelman, Port Trevorton RR1; two sisters, Margaret Lilley, Selinsgrove RR4 and Edith Basom, Selinsgrove RR2; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, George, Walter, William and Charles Heintzelman, and two sisters, Mabel Bower and Mary Heintzelman. He was educated in the lower Herrold Grammar Schoolhouse in Union Township, Snyder County. He retired in 1979 from ConRail's Enola yards, where he was a machinist for 27 years. At times when he was furloughed from the railroad, he worked various construction jobs. He also assisted his father in farming. He was a member of the Zion (Hall's) Lutheran Church, Port Trevorton RR1 and a life member of the Port Trevorton Volunteer Fire Company. He was known for joking with his family. He enjoyed viewing television and, in his early years, enjoyed fishing and hunting. His funeral service is at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Mills, with the Rev. Timothy W. Bingman officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Millerstown RR2. Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Penn Lutheran Village Nursing Home-Memorial Fund, 800 Broad St., Selinsgrove, PA 17870.

Ward H. Hendrick
REEDSVILLE - Ward H. Hendrick, 83, of Reedville, formerly of Marlette, MI, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at Marlette Community Hospital, Marlette, MI. Born Dec. 18, 1917, in Clifford, MI, he was the son of the late Alexander and Lucy (Ward) Hendrick. His wife, Wilma (Searles) Hendrick, whom he married March 29, 1943 in St. Louis, MO, survives. Also surviving are: daughters, Mrs. Don (Sharon) Bishop of Monticello, MS and Crystine Hendrick of Beaufort, SC; and three grandsons. He was preceded in death by a sister, Morsia Stolt. He graduated from Kingston High School. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He worked in sales for General Coach in Marlette and Marlette Homes in Lewistown, until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the Marlette First Presbyterian Church. Cremation took place at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, MI. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of one's choice. The Marsh Funeral Chapel Inc., 2675 Main St., Marlette, MI, was in charge of arrangements.

Margaret E. Henry
PORT ROYAL - Margaret E. Henry, 88, of Port Royal RR2, died at 1:33 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born May 18, 1912, in Pleasant View, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mabel (Pannebaker) Armstrong. Her husband, L. Roy Henry, died August 6, 1967. She is survived by children, C. Roy Henry, David C. Henry and James W. Henry, all of Port Royal RR2, Robert L. Henry, Mifflintown, Mable Beaver, Academia, Pauline Dziewit, Lexington Park, Md., and Mary Lehman, Mifflintown RR2; brother and sister, Herman Armstrong Sr., Mifflin and Olive Stake, Port Royal RR2; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, O. Frank Henry, a grandson, James Beaver and a great-granddaughter. She was a member of Port Royal Lutheran Church. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Henry Funeral Home, Honey Grove, with the Rev. Marten Roberson and the Rev. Warren Peachey officiating. Interment will be in the Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal. Friends may call 10 a.m. until the time of the services Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: Port Royal Lutheran Church, 402 Market St., Port Royal, PA 17058.
