Robert C. Watson
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Robert C. Watson, 73, of Memphis, Tenn., and formerly of Lewistown, died of cancer Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at his home. Born Oct. 24, 1926, in Burnham, he was the son of the late George and Carrie Watson. His wife, Pauline (Noerr) Watson of 2645 McVey Road, Memphis, Tenn., whom he married in 1949, survives. Also surviving are: daughters, Nancy Amsden of Memphis, Tenn. and Sally Watson of Charlotte, N.C., and one grandchild. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a retired chief corporate jet pilot. He was a member of Central Church, Masonic Lodge 203, and the Al Chymia Shrine Temple, all in Memphis Tenn. Graveside services were held at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Memphis, Tenn. The Memphis Funeral Home, Poplar Chapel, Memphis, Tenn., was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to: Salvation Army, 9 S. Dorcas St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Nellie I. Watt
GRANVILLE - Nellie I. Watt, 88, of Malta Home, Granville, formerly of Granville, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at the home. Born Dec. 23, 1911, in Granville, she was the daughter of the late James M. and Sarah A. (Ross) Fink. Her husband, Harry F. Watt, died March 21, 1978. Surviving are: children, James W. Watt and Mrs. Ray (Ila) Fultz, both of Granville, Mrs. Luis (Pearl) Berdecia, Shermansdale, Harry A. Watt, Harrison, Ark., and William H. Watt, McVeytown; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Fink and Earl Fink; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Early in life, she was employed by the American Viscose Corp. and Cluett-Peabody Shirt Factory. Later, she worked for the Pennsylvania State License Department, Harrisburg and the W.T. Grant Department Store, Burnham. She was a member of the Granville United Methodist Church. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Granville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Richard W. Bender officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown.

Carmon V. Weader
BEAVERTOWN - Carmon V. Weader, 90, of Beavertown, died at 4:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at Manor Care, Camp Hill. Born March 4, 1910 in West Beaver Township, Snyder County, he was a son of the late James and Bertha (Schrader) Weader. His first wife, Lillian (Aurand) Weader, whom he married Oct. 4, 1936, preceded him in death in 1962. His second wife, Helen (Miller) Weader, whom he married in 1965, preceded him in death on June 24, 1990. Surviving are: children; Mrs. Donald (Mary E.) Hart, Dillsburg and Mrs. Larry (Margaret F.) Troxell and Warren E. Weader, both of Beaver Springs RR1; a brother; Donald S. Weader, McClure RR2; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two infant daughters, two sisters, Faye Smyers and Freda Weader, and by two brothers, Harrison and Glace Weader. He attended the Mountaindale One Room School House, McClure RR2. He farmed near Beavertown from 1948 till 1962, and worked at Standard Steel, Burnham, between 1952 and 1974. He attended St. John's Ridge Church, McClure RR2. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a past member of the Lowell Gang. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Beavertown chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, with Pastor Enos Shelly officiating. Interment will be in Black Oak Ridge Cemetery, McClure RR2. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the family present 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Black Oak Ridge, RR2, McClure, PA 17841.

Elder E. Weader
MCCLURE - Elder E. Weader, 95, of McClure, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Dec. 17, 1904, in Adams Township, Snyder County, he was a son of the late Adam A. and Carrie R. (Aumiller) Weader. His wife, Luvada E. (Snook) Weader, whom he married June 30, 1935, survives. Also surviving are: a son, Edwin L. Weader, McClure; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon D. in 1960; a sister, Vera F. Kline Clare, in 1973; and a brother, W. Michael Weader, in 1998. He received his education from the former Beckley College of Harrisburg, Susquehanna University and Shippensburg University. He began teaching at Fairview one room schoolhouse in 1920. He retired in June 1968 from the West Beaver Township Schools after 42 years of service teaching fourth and fifth grades. He also taught penmenship, history and geography in the junior high school. Earlier in life, he and his brother owned and operated Weader's Insurance Agency. He was a member of Mt. Bethel United Church of Christ, McClure, where he participated in the Men's Bible Class, taught Sunday School for many years, served as Sunday School Superintendent, served on the church council, and had served as a former secretary and president. He had served as a Boy Scout leader and participated in the former McClure Chamber of Commerce, serving as secretary and president. He was a member of F&AM Lodge 619, Middleburg, where he was a past master; was a member of the Harrisburg Consistory; a lifetime member of the PSEA (Pennsylvania State Education Association); a member of the local and state chapters of PASR (Pennsylvania Association of State Retirees). He enjoyed woodcarving and gardening. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Mt. Bethel United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Donald Wise officiating. Interment will be in the McClure Union Cemetery. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Saturday at the Aurand Funeral Home, North Brown St., McClure, where the family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. and a Masonic service will be held at 8:30 p.m. by F&AM Lodge 619, Middleburg. Those desiring may attend a viewing from 1 p.m. until the time of services Sunday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Mt. Bethel United Church of Christ, PO Box 23, McClure, PA 17841.

Robert F. Weader
MILLHEIM - Robert F. Weader, 72, of North Street, Millheim, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at Centre Community Hospital, State College. Born May 30, 1928, in McClure, he was a son of the late John and Effie (Zechman) Weader. His wife, Audrey Mae (Boop) Weader, of Penn Lutheran Nursing Home, Selinsgrove, whom he married June 15, 1947, survives. Also surviving are: a son, Robert F. Weader Jr., McClure; a sister, Shirley Leister, McClure RR2; a brother, William Weader, McClure RR2; three granddaughters and three great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by a brother, John "Skip" Weader, and a half-sister, Phyllis Brown. He was a retired mason. He was an avid hunter and loved camping and gardening. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, West Main Street, Millheim, with the Rev. Kevin Brophy officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Baker's United Methodist Church, McClure, PA 17841.

Bernice M. Weaver
MIFFLINTOWN - Bernice M. Weaver, 80, of Mifflintown RR1, died at 9:54 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital. Born May 23, 1920, in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Lerrie C. (Leach) Kahley Sr. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Henry P. Weaver, on June 10, 1994 and survived by her first husband, Alonza L. Laird. Also surviving are: children, Donald Laird, Mrs. James (Isabelle) Snyder, Mrs. Joseph (Arlene) Porch, and Mrs. Ronald (Joyce) Beers, all of Lewistown, Mrs. Roy Donald (Betty) Huffman, Mifflin, and Mrs. Charles (Zelda) Fidler, Milroy; sisters, Mrs. Lee (Mildred) Zeiders, Mifflintown and Mrs. David (Betty) Kitting, Lewistown; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert Kahley, Elmer Kahley, Harry Kahley Jr., and Richard Kahley; one sister, Dorothy Noonan; and one grandson, James Snyder Jr. She was a waitress for Green Gables, the Elks Club and Tony's Cottage Inn. Later, she worked at Empire Kosher for 14 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Glenwood United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Juniata Memorial Park, with Pastor Kenneth Wagner officiating. There will be no public viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Building D, Altoona, PA 16601. Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

Viola K. Weaver
LEWISTOWN - Viola K. Weaver, 88, of 140 North River Road, Lewistown, died at 4:55 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2000, at Huntingdon Manor, Huntingdon. Born Nov. 13, 1911, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Joseph L. and Daisy (Sulouff) Reigle. She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. She had been employed in the laundry department of Lewistown Hospital, retiring in 1974 with eight years of service. Previously, she worked for the Malta Home, Granville and the American Viscose Corporation. She attended Church of the First Born, Lewistown. Graveside services were held Tuesday at Mt. Rock Cemetery with the Rev. Jacob T. Traxler officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mifflin-Juniata American Cancer Society, 26 N. Brown St., Lewistown, PA 17044. Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, was in charge of arrangements.

Grace E. Weidensaul
BELLEFONTE - Grace E. Weidensaul, 91, formerly of Reedsville, died at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at the Centre Crest Nursing Home, Bellefonte. Born Aug. 17, 1909, in Ercildoun, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Mabel (Walton) Kendig. Her husband, Thomson B. Weidensaul of the Centre Crest Nursing Home, Bellefonte, whom she married Oct. 14, 1934, survives. She is also survived by: a son, Craig Weidensaul, Centre Hall; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Kendig and a sister, Dorothy Brackin. She had worked at the Lewistown Transient Bureau and as a substitute English teacher in Mifflin County. She was a member of the East Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church, Reedsville, where she was active in the choir and the Ladies Sunday School Class. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the East Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church, 138 Walnut St., Reedsville, with the Rev. Charles McGaha officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville. There will be no viewing. Family will provide all flowers, but memorial contributions may be made to: the East Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church, 138 Walnut St., Reedsville, PA 17084 or Lewistown Hospital Auxiliary, 400 Highland Ave., Lewistown, PA 17044. The Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, is in charge of arrangements.
