Mahlon R. "Bucky" Lee
(April 21, 1942 - April 25, 2015)

Mahlon R. "Bucky" Lee, Sr., 73, of Stroudsburg, died Saturday, April 25, at the VNA Hospice House in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Catherine "Kay" (Vogt) Lee with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.

Born on April 21, 1942 in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Pauline O. (Safin) Lee and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.

He was an Inspector at Patterson Kelly in East Stroudsburg until retiring in 2000 after 36 years of service.

Bucky was a member of the Chemical Company #1 of the Stroudsburg Fire Department; Phoenix Firemen Relief Association; and Four County Firemen's Association. He also enjoyed building circus models, gardening and taking care of his lawn and property.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Mahlon R. Lee, Jr. and his wife, Kirsten of East Stroudsburg; a grandson, Tyler R. Lee of East Stroudsburg; a sister, Edna May Oney of East Stroudsburg; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Lee in 1989.

Graveside services will be Sunday, May 3, at 12:30 PM at Stroudsburg Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Shank officiating. There will be no viewing and cremation was private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to VNA Hospice of Monroe County, 502 VNA Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.

Craig R. Jones
(July 15, 1954 - December 10, 2017)

Craig R. Jones, 63, of Henryville, died Sunday, December 10, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital-Monroe Campus in Bartonsville. He was the husband of Linda L. (Grose) Jones with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.

Born on July 15, 1954 in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late Elizabeth M. Jones and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.

He owned and operated Cutter-Men Lawn Care and also worked on golf course maintenance at Pocono Palace.

Craig was a member and exulted ruler of BPO Elks #319 in East Stroudsburg; lifelong member of CLU Club in East Stroudsburg; and member of VFW and American Legion.

In addition to his wife, surviving are three children, James Van Horn of East Stroudsburg, and Sheena Jones and Roni Jones both of Stroudsburg; ten grandchildren, Brandton Graffin, Alicia Hurtado, Jakai Hurtado, Jadyn Hurtado, Lenix Gutierrez, JoJo Gutierrez, Craig Jones, Nyla Jones, Maxston Joye and Jaxston Joye; a sister, Starlet Jones of Stroudsburg; a niece, Nadine Ludwig of Stroudsburg; and many cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Jones.

The viewing will begin at 11:00AM followed by funeral service at 1:00PM on Friday, December 15, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. Burial will follow at Stroudsburg Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted.

Lanay J. Loeffler
(January 23, 1946 - April 16, 2015)

Lanay J. Loeffler, 69, of Middle Smithfield Township, died Thursday, April 16, at home. She was the wife of Barry Loeffler with whom she shared 47 years of marriage. Born on January 23, 1946 in Pasadena, CA, she was a daughter of the late Ross and Margaret (Pangorn) Stevens. She lived in Arkansas, Arizona, New Jersey, and Colorado prior to moving to Pennsylvania.

Lanay was a faithful member, and servant for the Lord of First Baptist Church in East Stroudsburg. She served in the nursery with the babies, and young children. You could always find a little one who would love to kiss her baby soft cheeks.

Lanay could brighten any room you walk into with her loving smile, and warm greeting. It did not matter whether she knew you or not you were bound to get a pleasant hello. She was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed.

In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Jeanine Fuller of Shawnee-on-Delaware; four granddaughters, Larissa Loeffler, Katrina Loeffler, Rebekah Loeffler and Christina Mae-Lanay Loeffler; three grandsons, Tim Loeffler, Blake Fuller and Andrew Fuller; a brother, Ross Stevens; a sister, Yvonne Stevens; a step-brother, Bob Cherone; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Pastor Steven Loeffler. Visitation will begin at 1:00PM followed by the memorial service at 2:00PM Wednesday, April 22, at First Baptist Church, 160 North Courtland Street, East Stroudsburg. Cremation was private.

Robert E. Clarkson
(February 28, 1926 - April 15, 2015)

U.S. Veteran
Robert E. Clarkson, 89, of Delaware Water Gap, died Wednesday evening, April 15, while under hospice care at home. He was the husband of the late Ella A. "Pat" (Wells) Clarkson who died December 16, 2011.

Born on February 28, 1926 at home in Delaware Water Gap, he was the son of the late Emanuel and Margurite (Brownyard) Clarkson.

A lifetime resident of Delaware Water Gap, he was a World War II Veteran, having served in the United States Navy.

He worked for the former Iron Workers Local 36 in Easton until retiring after 33 years of service.

Bob was a member of the American Legion and served on Delaware Water Gap Borough Council for many years.

Surviving are a son, David Clarkson and his wife Patricia of Delaware Water Gap, PA; a daughter-in-law, Connie Clarkson of East Stroudsburg; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Clarkson, Jr. on August 29, 2012.

Viewing will begin at 10:00AM followed by funeral services at 11:00AM on Monday, April 20, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. Pastor Dana Antal will officiate. Burial will follow at Delaware Water Gap Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to VNA Hospice of Monroe County, 502 VNA Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.

Arthur V. Graham, Jr.
(August 8, 1939 - April 15, 2015)

U.S. Veteran
Arthur V. Graham, Jr., 75, of Stroudsburg, died Wednesday morning, April 15, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Angela (Amato) Graham with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.

Born on August 8, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Dr. Arthur V. and Helen (Dougherty) Graham and lived in Stroudsburg for nine years.

He served in the United States Navy and worked as a stock broker in New York.

Arthur was a former active member of St. Edmond's Catholic Church in Brooklyn, NY where he was an usher and parish council president.

In his earlier years he coached baseball, was head coach of the New York Saints semi-pro football team and managed little league and ice hockey teams.

In addition to his wife, surviving are three children, Deborah Graham of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, Arthur V. Graham, III and his wife Allison of North Salem, NY, and Paul Graham and his wife Laurie of East Stroudsburg; six grandchildren, Timothy, Chris, Jonathan, Matthew, William and Rachel Graham; a brother, James Graham and his wife Sue of Monroe County, NJ; a sister, Maryjane Graham of Monroe County, NJ; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Graham.

Viewing hours will be from 3:00 to 5:00PM and 6:30 to 8:30PM on Friday, April 17, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM Saturday, April 18, at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, 200 Brodhead Ave., East Stroudsburg with the Rev. Joseph Kutch, as celebrant. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.

Gladys Lucille (Turnipseed) Fredmund
(February 1, 1919 - April 13, 2015)

Gladys Lucille Turnipseed Fredmund, 96, of Wilkes Barre PA, passed away at home on April 13, 2015 in Pittston PA.

Gladys was born in 1919 in Washington Co. Iowa, the daughter of Verne Gladys Noecker and Lloyd William Turnipseed. Her elementary school years were spent at Prairie Flower School, Cedar Township, a one-room school that her father helped create. She boarded in town to attend Washington High School from which she graduated at age seventeen. Starting while she was still in school and continuing after graduation, Gladys worked in Washington, Iowa for several agencies and businesses. She marriage Lloyd J. Fredmund, son of the preacher at First Baptist Church in Washington. They continued to live in Washington for a time after their marriage, and then moved to the Moline/Davenport area as the U.S. entered WWII and Lloyd found employment at Rock Island Arsenal. After Lloyd served in WWII, he was again employed by the Dept. of the Army at Rock Island. Gladys and Lloyd, the parents of five children, lived in Davenport, Iowa until 1959 before moving to military locations in Ohio, Utah, and Pennsylvania. They retired in the Pocono Mountains of PA, spending part of each winter in Florida. A 35-year resident of the Pocono Summit and Mount Pocono area of PA, since her husband’s death in 1998 Gladys has lived independently in an apartment at Wesley Village in Wilkes Barre PA.

Until very recently, Gladys was well-known as a regular volunteer in the gift shop at Wesley Village where she had worked a day or more per week for fourteen years. Primarily a mother and homemaker throughout her life, Gladys had a wide reputation for her baking, especially her homemade apple pies and her cookies, often the first things to sell at bake sales wherever she lived. Always well-versed in local news as well as national, Gladys could recall specifics of political and world events dating back to the elections of FDR, and she read newspapers and did the crossword puzzles every day. She loved to write and receive letters, and she corresponded with friends and family regularly. She wrote at least one letter to someone most days of her life, and her hand-written letters will be missed by her children, her sister and her many other correspondents around the U.S.

Preceded in death by her husband Lloyd and by her son Lloyd John Fredmund II, Gladys is survived by her sister Martha Turnipseed Lowe of Washington, Iowa; her children: Judith McIrvin (VA), Janet Kuplinski (AZ), James Fredmund (UT) and Julie Fredmund Heiney (PA); her grandchildren: Lloyd John Fredmund III, Matthew McIrvin, Rebecca Fritz, Megan McIrvin Shope, Beth Fredmund Fogarty, Carrie Fritz Casarez, Corey Lawson, and Thomas J. Heiney; her great grandchildren: Lauren Fredmund, Adam Fredmund, Siri Fredmund, Erik Fredmund, Greta Shope, Jorie McIrvin, and Molly Lawson. She is also survived by many other members of her large family including her sister-in-law Norma Turnipseed and a number of Turnipseed family members in Iowa and around the U.S.; and her sister-in-law Clara Webb and numerous Jensen family members throughout the world. At the request of Gladys, there will be no visitation or public memorial service.

Memories and condolences can be shared with the family on the website of William H. Clark Funeral Home, Stroudsburg PA.

Memorial donations in Gladys’ name can be sent to the American Cancer Society or to the organization of choice.
