Lester Carmack

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Lester Carmack, 75, of 415 N. 4th St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, April 15, 2000, at Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg.

Born June 11, 1924, in McConnellsburg, he was the son of the late Scott and Ethel Sipes Carmack.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Foreman Carmack, in 1980.

He was the director of Emergency Management Agency Civil Defense for 21 years. He owned a grocery store and furniture mart in McConnellsburg, a furniture mart in Chambersburg, Pa. for 10 years and served a four-year term on the McConnellsburg Council.

He was a Protestant.

He is survived by two sons, Ronald L. Carmack of Harrisonville, Pa. and Kenneth E. Carmack of McConnellsburg; a brother, Robert Carmack of Chambersburg; a granddaughter; a grandson; his companion, Wilda Clark of Fort Loudon, Pa.; a niece and a nephew.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Sipes Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Pa. Pastor Belvy White and Pastor David Oller will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in McConnellsburg.

There will be a private family viewing today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Erika W. Brison

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Erika Winter Brison, 59, of 812 Pine Grove Drive, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, April 28, 2000 at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born Aug. 15, 1940, in Glanbrucken, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Gustav and Auguste Noll Winter.

She graduated from high school in Germany in 1958.

She was employed as a sales associate by the Army-Air Force Exchange Service, first in Germany, then at Fort Ritchie in Cascade where she worked until it closed in 1996. She was later employed as a sales associate at Wal-Mart in Hagerstown until September 1999.

She is survived by her husband, Leon Brison, whom she married Sept. 2, 1980, in Germany; two daughters, Susi Ballet of Germany and Micheala Brison of Waynesboro; five sons, Volke Klein, Axel Klein and Mario Klein, all of Germany, and Hans Peter Klein and Mark Brison, both of Waynesboro; two sisters, Ilse Winter and Martha Winter, both of Germany; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 30 W. King St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Gregory P. Nelson will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, one hour prior to services at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.

Arrangements are by Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home in Waynesboro.

Dorothy R. Lehman

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Dorothy R. "Dot" Lehman, 92, of Menno Haven Nursing Home and formerly of Marion, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, April 15, 2000, at Menno Haven.

Born Sept. 25, 1907, in Marion, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Jennie Grace Hepfer Hartzok.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph M. Lehman, in 1966.

She was a 1924 graduate of Chambersburg High School; and a 1928 graduate of Wilson College in Chambersburg.

She was a school teacher in Warriors Mark, Pa., Alexandria, Pa. and Quincy, Pa. before teaching at Greencastle High School in Greencastle, Pa. She taught Latin and French at Greencastle for more than 25 years.

She was a member of Heidelberg United Church of Christ in Marion.

She was a member of the National Audubon Society.

She is survived by two sisters, Louise Wingert of Middletown, Pa. and Marguerite Diffenbaucher of Waynesboro, Pa.; two nieces and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Pastor John A. Toms will officiate.

There will be no viewing.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Arrangements are by Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

Priscilla R. Powell

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Priscilla R. Pepple Powell, 60, of 23 Tritle Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at her home.

Born Aug. 18, 1939, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of Clarence Pepple Sr., a resident of Piney Mountain in Fayetteville, Pa., and the late Luray Snider Pepple.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Powell, in 1986.

She was a 1958 graduate of Scotland High School.

She was employed by South Mountain Restoration Center in South Mountain, Pa., as a nurses aide for nine years. She retired in 1998.

She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 1758 Ladies Auxiliary; and Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 Ladies Auxiliary, both of Waynesboro.

In addition to her father, she is survived by two sons, Terrance Pepple and Dwight Pepple, both of Waynesboro; a sister, Lois Creager of Waynesboro; a brother, Clarence Pepple Jr. of Hagerstown; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.

There will be no public viewing.

Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium, Waynesboro.

Janet G. McFerren

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Janet G. Walters McFerren, 88, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home and formerly of 41 Phillips Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, April 15, 2000, at the nursing home.

Born Dec. 15, 1911, in Chambersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George and Sarah Stevenson Walters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles V. "Jack" McFerren, in 1998. They were married Sept. 9, 1933.

She attended school in Chambersburg.

She started working at age 16 for Interwoven Factory in Chambersburg. Later, she worked as a presser for Waynesboro Knitting Mill in Waynesboro. She retired in 1978.

She was a member of Otterbein United Brethren Church in Waynesboro.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy E. Scriniere of Palmyra, Pa.; two sons, James N. McFerren of Club Run, Ky. and Charles E. McFerren of Waynesboro; a brother, William Walters of Chambersburg; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Emery; and a brother, Paul Walters.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Burns Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro. The Rev. Carolyn C. Belenski will officiate.

The family will receive friends Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50. S. Broad St. in Waynesboro.

Memorial donations may be made to Quincy United Methodist Home, Benevolent Care Fund, P.O. Box 128, Quincy, PA 17247.

John M. Stinebaugh

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - John M. Stinebaugh, 49, a resident of Manorcare Health Services and formerly of Waynesboro, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, April 15, 2000, in Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Aug. 5, 1950, in Waynesboro, he was the son of Russell Stinebaugh and the late Minta May Shank Stinebaugh.

He was a 1968 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School.

He was employed as a dental lab technician by Price's Dental Lab in Waynesboro; and later York Dental Lab in York, Pa.

In addition to his father, he is survived by a sister, Carol D. Ingram of France; a brother, David A. Stinebaugh of Waynesboro; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald A. Stinebaugh.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Manorcare Health Services Benevolent Care Fund, 1070 Stouffer Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium, Waynesboro.
