HARRY SHERICK
PITTSBURGH - Harry Sherick, a former resident of Titusville, passed away on April 6, 2003, at his home in Pittsburgh.
He was born in Oil City, the son of Harry and Mary Moran Sherick. He was a graduate of Oil City High School.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army from 1942 to 1945, serving in the European Theater. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Medal and five Bronze Stars.
He worked at Struthers Wells, Forge Division, until its closing and then worked for Heppenstall Company in Pittsburgh and Connecticut.
He marriage the former Shirley Crone on Aug. 29, 1953, in St. Walburga Church.
He was a member of VFW Post #02754 and the American Legion #2003. He was an avid golfer and played in several tournaments.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by four children, Harry and his wife, Rosanna, of Endicott, N.Y.; John, Tami and her husband, Mark Pierson, and Trudi and her husband, Joseph Mariani, all of Pittsburgh. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Sara and Michael Sherick of Endicott, N.Y.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Moran, and sister, Carolyn Bauer.
Burial was from St. Sebastian Church in Pittsburgh, of which he was a member, with internment with full military honors.

WILLIAM 'WILEY' E. WELDON, 50
WARREN - William "Wiley" E. Weldon, 50, of 103 Willoughby St., Warren, was pronounced dead on arrival at Warren General Hospital Emergency Room Tuesday, June 3, 2003. His death was unexpected.
Weldon was born June 1, 1953, at Warren, and had resided there most of his life.
A graduate of Warren Area High School Class of 1971, Weldon was employed for 25 years at Osram as an electrician.
He was an avid family man.
Weldon had served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict as an E-4.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Yosten Weldon, whom he marriage Nov. 11, 1972, in Warren; his mother, Dixie Eaton Weldon of Warren; two daughters, Mrs. Nathan (Tara) Keller of Columbus, Ohio, and Jada Weldon of Warren; one son, Charles E. Weldon of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Mrs. Tom (Pamela) Hall and Mrs. Larry (Margery) Roth, both of Roseville, Calif.; and one grandson. Several nieces and nephews also survived.
He was preceded in death by his father, William G. Weldon; and one sister, Linda Campbell.
Friends are invited to a celebration of Weldon's life to be held Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. at his residence.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
The Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., is in charge of funeral arrangements.

MARY C. LUKE, 71
Mary C. Luke, 71, of Grand Valley, RD 1, died at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at Titusville Area Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced.

CAPT. W.R. McCLELLAN, 92
Capt. W.R. McClellan, 92, U.S. Navy (retired) of Babylon Hill Road, Tidioute, died unexpectedly in Warren General Hospital's emergency room on Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999.
Capt. McClellan was born Nov. 27, 1906, in RayMilton, to the late William and Arminta Perrine McClelland and had been a Tidioute resident since 1916.
A 1925 Tidioute High School graduate, he earned a degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry in 1931.
Capt. McClellan retired from the Navy in 1968, after serving 30 years and seeing action in World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He was the oldest member of Pequignot/Yeager VFW Post 8803 of Tidioute.
Surviving are: a brother, Daniel McClelland of Seattle; and several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. William (Noreen) Brown and William Konkle, both of Tidioute, Betty Mailhot of Warren and Brooks Ambos of Albuquerque.
Three sisters, Genevieve McKown, Alice Konkle and Sarah Short, died previously.
Interment will follow in Tidioute Cemetery with Pequignot/Yeager VFW Post providing military honors.

EARNESTINE J. ROGERS, 51
Word has been received that Earnestine Janet Rodgers, 51, of Phoenix, Ariz., died there Oct. 10, 1999, after a short illness.
Ms. Rogers was born July 1, 1948, to James and Julia Proctor Burnside of Phoenix, formerly of Pleasantville.
Surviving are two daughters, four grandchildren, two brothers, four sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers died previously.
In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family can be sent to Julia Burnside, 1220 E. Apache St., Phoenix, Ariz., 85034.

GLORIA JEAN DAVIS, 45
Gloria Jean Davis, 45, of 31463 Stanford Road, Cambridge Springs, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, after an automobile accident.
Mrs. Davis was born Oct. 25 1954, at Meadville to Ralph and Marge Sybrant Smith.
She marriage Robert Davis in June 1999.
Mrs. Davis graduated from the former Randolph-East Mead High School in 1972.
For the past year and a half, she worked as an operator at PennDOT's Meadville office. Previously, she worked at W.L. Dunn Construction and for American General Insurance Co.
Mrs. Davis was a member of Lyona Bible Church.
She enjoyed her two Morgan horses, horseback riding and trail riding.
In addition to her husband and parents, survivors include two step-sons, Brent Davis and Nicholas Davis of Cambridge Springs; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sheryl and Don Lewis of Meadville, Lois and Ron Burns of Conneautville and Connie Snyder of Conneautville; three nephews; and two nieces.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville, where the service will be conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Gerald Walton and Rev. Mike Fraser, pastors of Lyona Bible Church.
Interment will be in Kingsley Cemetery, Townville.
Memorials may be made to Lyona Bible Church's building fund, 28825 Lyona Road, Guys Mills, 16327.

ARTHUR V. COLLINS, 78
Arthur V. Collins, 78, of 212 11th St., Franklin, formerly of Cooperstown, RD 1, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 000, at his home.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home.

MICHAEL SAVITZ, 78
Michael Savitz, 78, of Grand Valley, RD 1, died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, in Titusville Area Hospital.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home.

RICHARD A. CATALFU, 53
Richard A. Catalfu, 53, of 740 Wayne St., Corry, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, in St. Vincent Health Center, Erie, after a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 15, 1947, in Corry to the late Joseph and Pauline Popovich Catalfu.
He marriage the former Rita Moore on May 5, 1972, in Columbus, Pa. She survives.
Raised and educated in Titusville, he was a 1965 graduate of St. Joseph's Academy.
He was employed at Corry-Jamestown Co. in Corry prior to working for McInnes Steel Corp., from which he retired after 26 years of service.
He was a member of the Sportsman Investment Club.
He enjoyed working around his home and yard, traveling, fishing and going to garage sales. He also liked to bowl and hunt. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include: a daughter, Debbie J. Catalfu of Corry; a son, John R. Catalfu of Corry; two grandchildren, Allison Catalfu and Collin Catalfu; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Barbara and Ted Hoover of McKane and Gloria Smith of Townville; a brother, Daniel Catalfu of Red Lion; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry.
On Monday, a prayer service will be held at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home; a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas The Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Corry, with the Rev. Thomas Brown, pastor, as celebrant.

JESSIE A. HEIDENREICH, 98
Jessie A. Heidenreich, 98, of Bradford died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, in Bradford Nursing Pavilion.
A former Titusville resident, she was born Sept. 2, 1902, in Barre, Vt., to the late John and Jessie Stephen Angus.
She moved to Aberdeen, Scotland, as a child, attended school there, and returned to the United States at the age of 16.
She marriage Arvid R. Nelson on Dec. 21, 1921, in East Braintree, Mass.; he died June 19, 1959. On Aug. 7, 1974, she marriage Walter Heidenreich in Erie; he died April 3, 1982.
Before marrying, she worked as a secretary for Travelers Insurance Co. in Boston. Then, she became a homemaker.
She had been a member of the Church of Christ Scientist in Bradford and Erie. She also was a first reader, Sunday school teacher and church pianist.
She belonged to the Eastern Star.
Survivors include: a son, Arvid R. Nelson Jr. of Bradford; several grandchildren, Arvid R. Nelson III, Carol Ryan, Stephen Nelson and Diane M. Ludwig; four great-grandchildren; two nieces; and three nephews.
A daughter, Eleanor VanPelt, and a sister and two brothers died previously.
At the family's request, there will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Bradford First Presbyterian Church by the Rev. W. LeRoy Beckes, pastor.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Church of Christ Scientist, 92 Congress St., Bradford, 16701.
Arrangements are by Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Home, Bradford.

FRANCIS E. CRONE, 88
Mrs. Frances E. Crone, 88, of 227 Water St. (Billie Brown Building), died at 10: 12 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2003, at the Titusville Area Hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Crone was born on July 18, 1914, at Troy Township, a daughter of the late Wilton and Nellie Smith Crowther. She was marriage to Chester D. Crone on May 3, 1932, at Ripley, N.Y. He preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1999.
Mrs. Crone had attended the Titusville schools.
She attended Mt. Hope United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, working crossword puzzles and playing cards.
Mrs. Crone is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William (Jeanette) Englert of Tuscon, Ariz., and Mrs. Emerson (Joan) Sterling of Townville; six grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; a brother, Richard Crowther of Titusville; two sisters, Mrs. John (Florence) Strawbridge of Titusville and Mrs. Eleanor Walker of Dawson, Texas; two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Frances Crowther and Mrs. Genevieve "Babe" Crowther, both of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Crone, in 1949; and two brothers, Stanley and Ivan Crowther.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and attend the funeral service there on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Russell, pastor of the Mt. Hope/Pine Grove United Methodist Churches, officiating.
Interment will be in the Cochranton Cemetery.
