Johnny ‘Mo’ Molina
MONAHANS - Johnny “Mo” Molina, 63, a general maintenance serviceman, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, in Monahans.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Grace Fellowship Church with the Rev. Mark Bristow officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery.
He was born in Monahans. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Josie Molina of Monahans; son, John Michael Molina of Monahans; daughters, Marlene Sanders of Midland and Susie Valdez of Monahans; brothers, Martin Gonzales of Odessa, Raymond Gonzales Jr. of Midland and Ben Gonzales and John Gonzales, both of Monahans; sisters, Dolores Mejia of Twain Heart, Calif., Becky Fuentes of Mineral Wells and Amelia Gonzales, Mary Fierro and Frances Dominguez, all of Monahans; and two grandchildren.

Cleva Shankles
LEWISVILLE Cleva Shankles, 66, of Lewisville, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at Medical Center of Lewisville.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Burial will be at Old Hall cemetery.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Joyce Lee Harrison of Hitchcock, Robin Rae Groves of Denton, Cathy Louise Dunham of Phoenix and Donna Lynn Keene of Lewisville; brother, Woody Harbin of Keithville, La.; and six grandchildren.

Mariana Munoz Sotelo
ODESSA - Mariana Munoz Sotelo, 79, of Odessa, passed away Monday, November 8, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born May 4, 1925, in Marfa, Texas, to Pedro and Juana Vasquez Sotelo. In 1945, in Marfa, Texas, she united in marriage to Jose G. Sotelo and to this unification were born six children. She was a Christian Catholic and a retired housekeeper from the housekeeping department at Medical Center Hospital.
Mrs. Sotelo was preceded in death by her husband, Jose G. Sotelo Sr.; son, Jose Sotelo Jr.; parents; two brothers, Pedro and Jose Munoz; and grandson, John John Razo.
She is survived by three sons, Chon Sotelo of Odessa, Alvaro Sotelo of Marina Del Rey, California, and Tony Pacheco of Martinez, California; two daughters, Lillian Garza of Odessa and Viola Razo of Marfa, TX; sister, Catherine Calanche of Marfa, TX; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and lots of friends.
Rosary will be recited on Wednesday and Thursday, November 10 and 11, 2004, at 7 p.m. at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday November 12, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Reverend Joseph Uecker officiating. Interment to follow at Rose Hill cemetery
Services by Odessa Funeral Home.

James Edward Chaney
FREDERICKSBURG - James Edward Chaney, 71, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, in Fredericksburg.
Services were at 3 p.m. Saturday at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jarrell Sharp officiating. Burial was at Greenwood cemetery.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Betty Waite Chaney of Fredericksburg; daughter, Lou Ann Woodall of Austin; and one grandchild.

R.D. Lawson
ODESSA - R.D. Lawson, 79, of Odessa, owner of a sheet metal shop, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at the VA Hospital in Big Spring.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
He was born in Stamford. He served in the Navy.
SURVIVORS: Son, David Ray Lawson of Waxahachie; daughters, Patty Fraley and Barbara Lawson, both of Odessa, Bonnie Herring of Victoria and Virginia Green of Greencastle, Ind.; brother, Whit Lawson of Midland; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Eva Nunez Lechuga
ODESSA - Eva Nunez Lechuga, 79, of Odessa, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Sienna Care Center.
Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at noon Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Uecker officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery.
She was born in Marfa. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Gustavo Lechuga of Odessa; sons, Albert Lechuga of Calif., Salomon Lechuga of Odessa and Abelardo Lechuga of Albuquerque, N.M.; sisters, Consuela Berzosa of San Angelo and Socorro Garza of Odessa; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Margaret Woods
MONAHANS - Margaret Woods, 85, of Monahans, a private secretary for Joe McShane, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, in Odessa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. James Episcopal Church with the Rev. Leslie Gregory and the Rev. Malcolm Slayter officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery.
She was born in Bogata.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Donald Woods of Monahans; son, Byron Woods of Monahans; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

William J. Carpenter
ODESSA - William J. Carpenter, of Odessa, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at his residence.
Services are pending with Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Ray Holt Conatser
ODESSA - Ray Holt Conatser, 72, of Odessa, a teacher, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Hospice House.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Vine Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Touchstone officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery.
He was born in Lingleville. He was a member of Vine Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Mary Conatser of Odessa; son, Kevin Conatser of Odessa; daughter, Kristi Nicholas of Odessa; and five grandchildren.

Vela Cooper
ODESSA - Vela Cooper, 92, of Odessa, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
She was born in Tulia.
SURVIVORS: Son, Paul Willis Cooper of Odessa; daughters, Sue Hayes of Tiki and Pauline Gleason of Seattle; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Louise Dixon
ODESSA - Dorothy Louise Dixon, 42, of Odessa, a nurse for Nurses Unlimited, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at her residence.
Wake services will be at 7 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. R. S. Sutton officiating. Burial will be at Ector County cemetery.
She was born in Odessa.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Nichol Dixon and Breanna Armendariz, both of Cedar Hill; brothers, Natchez Dixon of Odessa and Steve Dixon and Winston Dixon, both of Dallas; and sisters, Lillie Session of Dallas and Kattie Dixon, Florence Dixon and Tammy Dixon, all of Odessa.

ODESSA - Johnny Martin “Tooter” Dyson, 34, of Odessa, an employee for Key Energy Services, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at his residence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. New Mexico time at the Lovington cemetery in Lovington, N.M.
He was born in Odessa. He was a Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Angela Dyson of Odessa; son, Sammye Dyson of Odessa; stepson, Justin Johnson of Odessa; parents, Sam Dyson of Odessa and Winona and Robert Miller of Hobbs, N.M.; brothers, Jack Jones of Dallas, Robert Miller Jr. of Hobbs and James Whetmore of Odessa; sister, Chyree Miller of Hobbs; and one grandchild.

Alvan Quinlan ‘Quin’ ‘Papaw’ Morgan
NORMAN, Okla. Alvan Quinlan ‘Quin’ ‘Papaw’ Morgan, 77, of Norman, Okla., a retired oil field and insurance employee, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, in Norman.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Primrose Chapel.
He was born in Sudan.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Evelyn Morgan of Norman; daughters, Sandra Satterlee of Nevada, Mo., Ginger Masterson of Noble, Okla., and Delia Stevenson of Shawnee, Kan.; sons, Jackie Morgan of Hinton and Joe Morgan of San Angelo; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at Seabury Nursing Center.
Graveside services will be at
1 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dick Brown officiating.
She was born in Menard. She was a member of Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Son, Greg Palmer of Odessa; daughters, Jennifer Hensley and Marlene Wall, both of Odessa; brother, Joe McDowell of Brady; sister, Art DeLong of San Angelo; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Jerry Duane Redmon
MONAHANS - Jerry Duane Redmon, 65, of Monahans, a club owner, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at his residence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Third and Dwight Church of Christ with Greg Holly officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery.
He was born in Cement, Okla. He served in the Army.
