Virginia, U.S., Marriage Records, 1936-2014

DAVID ROLAND DURMON
PULASKI – David Roland Durmon, 79, of 1108 Wilson Avenue, Pulaski departed this life on Mar. 4, 2004 in the Pulaski Community Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was death by a brother, Merle F. Durmon, two sisters, Joy Bell D. Cox, Mako D. Jones, sister-in-law, Virginia Durmon, brothers-in-law, Fred Cox, W. T. Smith, Jr. and Charles D. Jones. He had been a member of the First Baptist Church, Pulaski for over 50 years where he served on various committees, Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a retiree of Coca-Cola with 39 years of employment. He also worked after his retirement at the Pulaski Wal-Mart for 7 years until his health would not allow him to work. He served in the United States Navy (1942-1945) World War II aboard the U.S.S. Nashville. He was very proud of this time that he served our country and of having met and transported General Douglas MacArthur.
Surviving are: his wife of 59 years, Myrtle W. Durmon, Pulaski; daughter, Tanya D. Cromer, Dublin; grandson, David “Thorpe”Bishop, Radford; sister, Dew “Duckie” Smith, Pulaski; sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Neal Wirt, Pulaski; many nephews, nieces and extended family; special friend of the family, Colin Mickey; a very dear longtime friend, James “Jimmy” Webb.
Entombment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Dublin. Visiting will be Sunday evening from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 1652, Pulaski, Va. 24301. The family will receive friends at the daughters home on 5776 Wilderness Road, Dublin at any other time.

ELSIE VIRES BOOTHE
RADFORD – Elsie Vires Boothe, 88 of Radford, death by her husband, Lewis Crockett Boothe.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Ann Boothe of Radford, and June Hubbard of Dublin; and one son, Carl Boothe of Radford.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 8, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. born in Brooklyn, NY on January 9, 1934, a foster daughter of the late Frances and Joseph Thompson. She was preceded in funeral service will be conducted from the graveside at Quantico National died early Friday morning, March 5, 2004, at her home. She was death by her husband, Claude Swanson Alley. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Pulaski.
She was survived by her son, Warren Alley, Raleigh, N.C.; grandchildren and spouse, Sarah and Brent Niswander, Marriottsville, Md., and Stacey Alley, Raleigh, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Emmerson Niswander, and Ashton Niswander, both of Marriottsville, Md.
Cemetery, Pulaski. Visiting will be Tuesday from the church where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service hour. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the First Christian Church, Pulaski.

AILEEN REED MANUEL
WYTHEVILLE – Aileen Reed Manuel, age 82 formerly of 1909 Newbern Road, Pulaski Born Sept. 1, 1921 in Wytheville, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Guy Reed. One sister, Lucy Warren, also preceded her in funeral service will be conducted Sunday 2 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Rev. John Collins officiating. The family will receive friends following the service Sunday at the funeral home or at the home of their son, Paul Neal Manuel, Jr., 6527 Annie Akers Road, Radford, Va. In lieu of flowers memorial may be given in her memory to The First Church of the Brethren Building Fund, 1749 Newbern Road, Pulaski, Va. 24301 or the National Parkinson’s Foundation.
Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski is handling the arrangements for the family.

ETHEL ANNADEAN “ANN” DAVIDSON
PULASKI – Ethel Annadean “Ann” Davidson, age 75 of 1909 Caseknife Road, Pulaski Born Feb. 14, 1929 in Carroll County, Va. she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Mattie Edmonds Frazier. Also preceding her in Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening at the Abundant Life Ministries, 3050 Lee Highway, Pulaski.

WILLIAM WALTER GRAHAM CREGGER
DRAPER – William Walter Graham Cregger, age 76 of Draper went to join his wife in heaven Mar. 4, 2004.
death is his wife, Ruby Lee Thomas Cregger, one son, William Joseph “Billy” Cregger and a number of brothers and one sister.
He attended the Draper United Methodist Church and was a retired employee of the Radford Arsenal with 38 years of service. He was a loving husband, father and an inspiration to all who knew him.
Surviving are: his daughter, Muriel Marie Cregger, Draper; grandson, William Travis Cregger and wife Lynn, Pulaski; great granddaughter, Courtney Grace Cregger, Pulaski; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Cregger, Draper; brother, Samuel “Bud” Cregger, Max Meadows; sisters, Maggie Wyatt, Max Meadows, Preston Gravley, Max Meadows; half brothers, Tom Gibson, Dublin, Robert Gibson, Wytheville; special pets, Doo and Dachsie and Rassi.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. Bill Edmonds officiating. died Feb. 24, 2004 in Swampscott, Mass. She was the wife of the late Clarence Robinson formerly of Newport News, Va. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elise and Richard Tuve of Marblehead; her son, Cabell B. Robinson of Mijas, Spain; and two grandsons, Ashley R. and Courtney E. Robinson. She also leaves several relatives in Sweden. Graveside services will be held on Monday, Mar. 8, 2004 at 10 a.m. in the Greenlawn Memorial Park, Newport News, Va. Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

EDNA RUTH CRIGGER
WYTHEVILLE – Edna Ruth Crigger, age 96, of Wytheville, Va. and formerly of Atkins, Va., born in Smyth Co., Va., the daughter of the late Robert Newton and Ira Rader Leedy Lindamood. Mrs. Crigger was preceded in Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill born on Aug. 27, 1924 in Pulaski where he was a lifelong resident and he was the son of the late David W. Durmon and Carrie Durmon Mabry. He was also preceded in Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Dr. Don Pegram and Rev. Dwight Haynes officiating. died Feb. 5, 2004 in the Pulaski Community Hospital.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Mar. 6, 2004 at 3 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, to be followed by a reception at the Thornspring Golf Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Friends of the Pulaski County Library at 60 W. Third Street, Pulaski, Va. 24301.

GERALDINE “GERI” JARRELLS
PULASKI – Geraldine “Geri” Jarrells, age 65 of 4541 Lilly Road, Pulaski Born Feb. 16, 1939 in Pulaski she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Rosa Jones Stoots. She was also preceded in Interment will follow at the Trail Family died Monday, Mar. 1, 2004, at her home in Alderson, following a sudden illness.
Funeral service will be Friday, Mar. 5, at 2 p.m. at the River of Life Church of God, Alderson, W. Va. with the Rev. Phil Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Cemetery, Clayton, W. Va. Friends may call Thursday, Mar. 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lobban Funeral Home, Alderson, W. Va. and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Paul Smith, Ronald Smith, Tommy Blankenship, Mickey Blankenship, David Blevins, and Gerald Goodson.
