Born July 30, 1980, in Warren, he was a son of Leonard R. Scribben Jr. and Rosemary K. Zygmunt Scribben.
A student at Grand Valley High School, he would have been a senior this fall. Jason lettered in football, basketball, baseball and choir.
A member of Sacred Heart Church, Rock Creek, he worked for Scribben Heating and Plumbing with his uncle during the summer. He enjoyed water sports, golf and volleyball.
Survivors include his mother of Roaming Shores; his father and stepmother, Lisa R. (Swisher) Scribben of Green; a brother, Joshua C., at home; a sister, Amy M., at home; a stepbrother, Jeremy R. of Greene; paternal grandparents, Leonard and Bernice Scribben of Rock Creek; and maternal grandparents Daniel and Helen Zygmunt of Orwell.
Service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church, 3410 N. Main St., Rock Creek, with the Rev. Edward Kowaleski officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Orwell.

PAINESVILLE - Mildred H. Antolik, 73, died Sunday, July 5, 1998, at her home.
Born Aug. 24, 1924, in Conneaut, she was a daughter of Anton and Mary Penko, and moved to Painesville 36 years ago.
Mrs. Antolik was a homemaker and retired saleswoman. She was a member of St. Gabriel's Church, where she belonged to the 50 Plus Club. She was a member of the Slovenian Club of Fairport Harbor and the Walking Club at Lake Erie College in Painesville.
Survivors include her husband, Theodore; a son, Chuck of Leroy Township; two daughters, Rebecca Kucsma of Painesville Township and Renee Antolik of Richmond, Va.; and two sisters, Veronica Green of Conneaut and Elsie Kranyc of Bolton, Ontario, Canada.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters.

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Marianne Mahoney Boehm, 68, died Saturday, July 4, 1998, in a Charleston hospital.
Mrs. Boehm was born Aug. 2, 1929, in Erie, Pa., a daughter of William J. and Mary (Thompson) Mahoney.
She was a retired registered nurse who had worked at the Medical University of South Carolina. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Charleston, and past president of the Edgewater Park Garden Club.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence G. of Charleston; a daughter, Kathleen B. Nyquist of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; three sons, Gary Folly Beach, S.C., Daniel of North Andover, Mass., and James of Summerville, S.C.; two sisters, Jean Peterson of Erie and Joan Emling of Fairport, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.
Service is 10 a.m. today at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Charleston. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, James Island, S.C.

CLARIDON TOWNSHIP - Alice F. Calvin, 64, died Monday, July 6, 1998, at her home.
She was born May 19, 1934, in Willoughby. A lifelong area resident, she married Stanley H. Calvin on Feb. 15, 1969, in Chardon.
Mrs. Calvin worked in the Accounts Payable Department of Durmax-Johnson Rubber Co., Middlefield, for 21 years.
The recipient of the 1980 Geauga County Foster Parent of the Year award, she was family oriented and a member of Fowlers Mill Christian Church.
She loved to collect cookbooks.
Survivors include two sons, Bill Dorn of Chardon and Daniel Calvin of Burton; two daughters, Rebecca Brown of Venetia, Pa., and Marla Calvin of Meadowlands, Pa.; three step-children, Laura Horvath of Madison-on-the-Lake, Linda Morrow of Eastlake and David Calvin of Claridon; a foster son, David Fagan of Burton; 14 grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Dorn; and a grandson, Timothy Brown.

CONNEAUTVILLE, Pa. - Mildred Lois (Washburn) Dodge, 90, formerly of Albion, Pa., died Sunday, July 5, 1998, at the Rolling Fields Nursing Home in Conneautville.
Mrs. Dodge was born April 30, 1908, in Albion, the daughter of George Clark and Lottie Birdie (Harbugh) Washburn. She worked more than 40 years at Dan Chevrolet in Albion and Warren, Pa.
She was a past matron of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her daughter, Norma J. Carr of Lehigh, Fla.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Daniel Dodge, in 1978.

MONROE TOWNSHIP - Archie A. Marn, 64, of Hatches Corners Road died Monday, July 6, 1998, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born Dec. 30, 1933, in Conneaut, he was the son of Frank and Frances (Kepic) Marn.
A lifelong Conneaut resident, Mr. Marn was a toolsetter at the city's General Electric plant. He retired in 1996.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of VFW Post 2836, who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Linda (Laitinen) of Conneaut; two sons, Steven James of Pierpont and Vincent Edward of Galveston, Texas; two step-daughters, Lorraine Wallace of Merritt Island, Fla., and Cathleen Markielowski of Ashtabula; two sisters, Betty Laitinen of Conneaut and Margaret Baich of Hudson; a brother, Robert, of Conneaut; two grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.

PLANO, Texas -- Mary R. Burgher, 84, died Wednesday, July 1, 1998 at the Heritage Park Nursing Home in Plano.
Born Sept. 6, 1913, in Cleveland, she was the daughter of Fred and Mary (Zigli) Tepfenhart. She had lived in Texas since 1979, and previously in Rock Creek, Jefferson and Cleveland.
Mrs. Burgher was an assembler at LFE before retiring in 1979.
A member of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, Jefferson, her interests included gardening and reading.
Survivors include a son, Fred Tepfenhart of Richardson, Texas; two grandchildren, Laura A. Marino of Lakeland, Fla. and William Tepfenhart of Little Silver, N.J.; and a great-granddaughter, Oassiana Tepfenhart of Little Silver.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl R.; three brothers, John, Paul and George Tepfenhart; and a sister, Elizabeth Thomas.

NEEDLES, Calif. -- Reynold DeMichel, 69, died Friday, July 3, 1998, in Las Vegas.
Born July 9, 1928, in Ashtabula, he was the son of Paul and Carmel (DeMarco) DeMickel.
Mr. DeMichel was a professional musician, playing trumpet with several big band ensembles. He also was a composer whose band recorded much of his music.
He also was a Hollywood, Calif. resident for several years, and was known to a number of celebrities in that city.
Survivors include his son, Randall DeMichel of Ashtabula; two daughters, Paula DeMichel of Maryland and Janet DeMichel of Florida; and three grandchildren, Christopher, Hope and Steven DeMichel.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a twin brother, Ronald; and another brother, Arthur.

Born May 24, 1910, in Mt. Hope, W. Va., she was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Kovach) Bernath.
She was a homemaker.

JEFFERSON -- Beatrice Kort Sieberth, 89, of Mechanic Street, Grafton, died Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at Jefferson Geriatric Center, Jefferson.
Born Nov. 1, 1908, in Cleveland, she was the daughter of August William and Anna Amelia (Kort) Muenter.
Mrs. Sieberth had worked for a number of years at Higbee's and at C.H. Merthe Department Store in the Elyria area. She then worked as a proofreader at the Chronicle Telegram newspaper in Elyria for 10 years.
She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Elyria.
Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Eyring of Andover; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death in 1956 by her husband, Clyde R., whom she wed May 28, 1938; a daughter, Pamela Ann Nesbett, in 1986; and a brother, Stuart A. Muenter in 1976.

CONNEAUT -- Robert R. Soller, 80, of Dorman Road, Conneaut, died Monday, July 6, 1998, in the University Hospitals of Cleveland.
Mr. Soller was born Dec. 24, 1917, in Manistee, Mich., the son of Clarence and Clara Soller, and lived in Conneaut since 1944.
He sailed with the Pittsburgh Steamship Lines for several years as a third assistant. Mr. Soller worked for the former Fortune Byers Co. installing plumbing and heating, and between 1959 and retirement in 1979 was proprietor of Soller Plumbing.
After retirement, he served 11 years as city plumbing inspector for the Conneaut Board of Health.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Soller was a former member of the Amboy Rifle Club. He also enjoyed gardening, softball and his family.
Survivors include his wife, the former Marie M. Harrington, whom he married 54 years ago; a daughter, Susan Welch of Alexandria, La.,; a son, David H. of Conneaut; two brothers, Arthur and Leonard Soller, both of Manistee, Mich.; three grandchildren, Derek Woodworth, Anne Marie Soller and Aimee Soller; and two step-grandchildren, Steven and Jason Tharp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the East Conneaut United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Peg and Ashwin Welch officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memory Gardens at the convenience of the family.

Born Feb. 15, 1963, she was a graduate of the Northwestern High School Class of 1981. She also attended adult computer science education courses at the Erie County Vo-Tech School.
For the past 13 years, Mrs. Temple worked at Bartone Stateline Service Co. in West Springfield, Pa. She was active with Northwestern Little League, keeping score for the boys' teams.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed making crafts, reading and working crossword puzzles.

CARLSBAD, N.M. -- Lloyd Lee "Bud" Woodin, 63, of East Church Street, died Sunday, July 5, 1998, at home.
He was born Jan. 28, 1935, in Cherry Valley Township, the son of Karl Clinton Woodin and Stella Giddings. He married Carol "Woody" Ann Berrier Jan. 20, 1962, in Dorset.
A student at Andover High School, Mr. Woodin was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1958, and served for 18 months in Germany. He later served in the National Guard for three years.
A one-time employee of Cleveland Brass Co., he later was a self-employed dairy farmer in Kinsman. He moved to Carlsbad, N.M. in 1979, where he worked for the Amax Chemical Co. until its closure in 1993.
While in Carlsbad, he was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church. He also was a 4-H leader in Dorset for many years.
He enjoyed making ceramic figures, walking his dog along the Pecos Riverwalk in Carlsbad and attending horse shows, where he watched his grandson ride.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cindy Woodin of Carlsbad; two brothers, Karl Dean of Dorset and Richard of Akron; three sisters, Shirley Hollis of Williamsfield, Donna Webker of Andover and Doris Furiga of Mesa, Ariz.; and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

MONROE TOWNSHIP - Edward S. Gill, 63, of Stanhope-Kelloggsville Road died Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at his home.
He was born June 8, 1935, in Sharpsville, Pa., the son of Scott and Emily Dickey Gill. He had resided in Monroe Township since 1971.
Mr. Gill worked at Sharon Steel Co. and Plycraft Inc. as a machine operator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict.
An avid fisherman and hunter, he enjoyed the outdoors. His other interests included playing horseshoes and doing yardwork.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Ida; two sons, Scott of Jefferson and Edward of Hubbard; six step-children, Robert and Bill McFadden, both of Conneaut, Dan McFadden of Niles, and Delores Wolf, Ella Williams and Rhonda Atwood, all of Ashtabula; 28 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert, of West Middlesex, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Emily, Darlene and Gloria Gill; and a brother, Glenn.

VERMILION - Hugh Don Jones, 64, died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West, following a seven-month illness.
A Vermilion resident since 1970, he was born Jan. 8, 1934, in Jefferson City, Tenn. He also lived for a time in Ashtabula.
Mr. Jones worked for E&L Transport Co., Lorain, as a car hauler. He retired this year, after 28 years service.
While in Ashtabula, he also worked as an auto body repairman until 1970.
He was a member of Harbourtown Community Church in Vermilion and Teamsters Union 964 of Cleveland.
His interests included old cars.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Rochelle (Coffelt); two sons, David and Kenneth Jones, both of Vermilion; six grandchildren; his father, Walter D. of Jefferson; and four brothers, Walter Jr. of Jefferson, Bobby of Orwell, Billy of Ashtabula and James Edward of Geneva.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas D. in 1978 and Daniel H. in 1988; and his mother, Ruth (Hubbard) Jones, in 1997.

Born May 11, 1913, in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of Angelo and Philomena Bucci Ray.
Mrs. Matticola was a graduate of Ashtabula High School. She worked at Morell Dress Factory, and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
She also was a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Altar and Rosary Society; VFW 943 Ladies Auxiliary; and the International Ladies Garment Association.
Survivors include a son, Michael of Ashtabula; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Josephine Vetrano of Ashtabula and Marian Mozzocci of Scottsdale, Ariz.

ANDOVER - Harvey S. Mitcheltree, 75, of Gates Street died Friday, June 26, 1998, at Horizon Hospital System in Greenville, Pa.
He was born Dec. 17, 1922, in Sharpsville, Pa., the son of Frederick C. Mitcheltree and Ella Patterson.
A former Sharpsville resident, Mr. Mitcheltree had lived in Andover since 1979.
In 1983, he retired from the former Shenango Corp. in Sharpsville, where he worked for more than 30 years as a millwright.
He enjoyed bowling and raising flowers.
Survivors include his wife, Paula J. (Rose), whom he wed March 17, 1979; a sister, Dorothy Stull, of Sharpsville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice (Farringer) Mitcheltree, in 1974; a son, Paul David, in 1986; four brothers, James, John, William and Christy Mitcheltree; and two sisters, Evelyn Stull and Blanche Potter.

ROAMING SHORES - Malroy Slusher, 91, died July 8, 1998, at St. Joseph Health Center Eastland, Warren.
Born Oct. 5, 1906, in Orwell, he was the son of Benjamin and Ida-Ellen (Taylor) Slusher.
Mr. Slusher worked in the lumber business all his life, last employed for William Taylor Lumber, Pierpont.
He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, bicycling around Lake Roaming Rock, and especially spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughter, Delores Mastaski of Roaming Shores, a grandson, Ryan; and two sisters, Eva Thomas of Gadsen, Ala. and Mildred Kellar of Mecca.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Wilmer, Floyd, Melvin and Alfred; and a sister, Norma Bortmas.

ASHTABULA - Joseph Taylor, 55, a resident of the Carington Park Nursing Home, died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.

CONNEAUT - Charles A. Allshouse, 82, of West Main Road died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, in University Hospitals of Cleveland.
Born Nov. 8, 1915, in Conneaut, he was the son of Harry and Mabel (Fralic) Allshouse.
Mr. Allshouse retired from the P & C Dock Co. in 1977, after 30 years of service as a coal loader and Hulett operator. He was also employed by the former Nickel Plate Railroad as a fireman for 6 years.
He was a member of the American Legion.
He enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting.
Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie Buckey and Linda Allshouse, both of Kingsville, and Nancy Dombrowski of Pittsburgh; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Danforth of Columbus; and a brother, Robert of Englewood, Fla.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary.
There are no calling hours or service.

SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP - Henry L. Burnett, 87, of South Ridge West died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, in the Hospice Unit of the Ashtabula County.
Born Dec. 2, 1910, in Ashtabula, he was the son of Edward and Katherine (Baffa) Burnett.
Mr. Burnett retired in 1975 after working as a car inspector for the New York Central Railroad, the Penn Central Railroad and Conrail.
A World War II veteran, he served in the Army Air Corps in both the European Theater and the Asiatic Theater.
He was a member of the Saybrook United Methodist Church, the Railroad Supervisors Union, the Disabled Veterans Association, the China, Burma, Indian Association, the American Legion and the Saybrook Grange.
He also played baseball for the Saybrook Merchants in the 1930s.
He enjoyed farming and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Charletta (Perkins) whom he married Nov. 30, 1944; a son, Edward; two daughters, Katherine George of Indianapolis, Ind., and Rebecca Wagner of Saybrook; three grandchildren, Jeremiah and Constance Burnett and Christopher Wagner; and a sister, Hilda Williams of Saybrook.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bruce; a brother, Harry; and a sister, Eleanor Lyon.
Service is 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, a Family Care Group affiliate, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Joseph Platt of the Saybrook Township Church officiating. Burial will be in Saybrook Township Cemetery.

ESPYVILLE, Pa. - Patricia A. Corey, 46, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, at her residence.
Born Nov. 27, 1951, in Charles Town, W. Va., she was the daughter of Charles C. and Geneva Lee (LeMasters) Gibson. She was a resident of Ashtabula a number of years.
Mrs. Corey was a self-employed care giver.
She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
She enjoyed her children, cooking, reading and sewing.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond F. whom she married April 17, 1977; five children, Jonathan L. and Bridgett R. Phillips, both of Ashtabula, Morgan Corey of Ashtabula, Heather Corey of Andover and Neicole Corey of Espyville, Pa.; five stepchildren, Bernie Anderson of Milwaukee, Wis., Randy, Linda and Fred Corey, all of Ashtabula, and Nancy Vargis of Ashtabula; eight step-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Gibson Jr. of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Service is 3 p.m. Monday at Harold W. Coleman Jr. Funeral Home, 6028 Highway 6, Linesville, with the Rev. Fred Flowers of the Harvest Baptist Church, Greenville, Pa., officiating. Burial will be in Linesville Cemetery.

ASHTABULA - Helen M. Hettmansperger, 94, of Gulfview Tower died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, at Carington Park Nursing Home.
Born July 16, 1904, in Big Rapids, Mich., she was the daughter of Alfred and Emma (Field) Husted. She has been an Ashtabula resident since 1949.
Mrs. Hettmansperger was a member of the Ashtabula First Church of Nazarene where she had been an active in all church activities, especially as a teacher and calling on shut-ins.
She was also active in the Salvation Army Home League, League of Mercy.
Survivors include a son, Noel E. of Waikola, Hawaii; a brother, Emerson Husted of Ocala, Fla.; and a sister, Gertrude Butler of Elkhart, Ind.; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a great, great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon; a son, David E.; a grandson, Gregory Hettmansperger; a sister, Doris McCray; and an infant son, Ronald.
Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ashtabula First Church of the Nazarene, 1820 S. Ridge W., with the Rev. Michael Legg officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlake Cemetery in North Kingsville.

MENTOR - Martha J. (Moyer) Metcalf, 82, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 1998, at Lake East Hospital in Painsville.
Born July 11, 1916, she was a former Geneva and Madison resident.
Mrs. Metcalf worked at General Electric Corp., Cleveland, as an assembler for 18 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Nadja Waddell of Dickinson, Texas; three grandchildren, Cheryl Smith, Susan Morgan and William Sanders; five great-grandchildren; and one great, great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Hubert Moyer, Leonard Wiemels and Wallace Metcalf.

ASHTABULA - John O. Toikkanen, 52, of Grove Drive died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, at his home.
Born March 18, 1946, in Ashtabula, he was the son of Ann M. Toikkanen.
Mr. Toikkanen was employed in the maintenance department of General Aluminum.
He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed gardening, animals and was a great sports fan.
Survivors include his wife, Rosanna (Inman); a son, John R.; two stepchildren, Heather and Russel Wagoner, both of Ashtabula; and a granddaughter, Brianna.
He was preceded in death by his mother.

CONNEAUT - Lebra Ann (Patty) Williams, 9, of Sandusky Street, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 1998, of accidental drowning.
Born Sept. 21, 1988, in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of Brenda (Terry) Williams and William Melton Luce Sr.
About to enter the fourth grade at Southeast Elementary School in Conneaut, she enjoyed reading, swimming, collecting Giga-pets and playing with her friends.
Besides her parents, Brenda Williams, Melton and Rebecca Luce, survivors include a brother, Chad Bowdtch of Corry, Pa.; and grandparents, Richard and Virginia Terry and Audrey Fleming, all of Jefferson, and Catherine Luce of Conneaut.

LEROY TOWNSHIP -- Harold E. Bennington, 81, died Friday, May 29, 1998, at his home.
Mr. Bennington was born July 30, 1916, in Leroy Township, the son of Frank W. and Jessie W. (Saywell) Bennington. He married Margaret Lefelhoc on Sept. 5, 1938, in Madison.
A lifelong Leroy area resident, he was a machinist at Upson Corp., Painesville. He later worked at Ohio Rubber Co. as a machinist and retired from that company in 1978, after 36 years service.
He also worked as a farmer. He enjoyed farming and driving his tractor.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Judy Bennett of Leroy; two sons, James of Madison and Donald of Painesville; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul of Lakeland, Fla.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tom; and a sister, Mary Jane Bennington.
Service is noon Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison, with the Rev. Luigi Miola officiating. Burial will be in Northeast Leroy Cemetery.

CHARDON -- Elizabeth (Leitch) CieChanski, 83, died Tuesday, May 26, 1998, in Elbert, Colo.
Mrs. CieChanski had resided in Chardon for the past seven years.
Survivors include her twin sister, Rebecca Sojka, of Chardon; two daughters, Barbara Bellini of Silverdale, Wash. and Victoria Baldwin of Elbert; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary CieChanski of Novelty.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; her parents, Elizabeth and James; three brothers, James, Angus and Joseph; and a sister, Agnes.

ASHTABULA -- Lewis E. Doyle, 78, of 58th Street, died Friday, May 29, 1998.
Born Dec. 20, 1919, in Smock, Pa., he was the son of Charles and Pauline (Stewart) Doyle and was a resident of Ashtabula for most of his life.
Mr. Doyle retired in 1981, after many years of service with both the city of Ashtabula and Conrail.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the battles of Naples-Foggia, N. Apennies, Po Valley and Tunisia while serving in the U.S. Army. He earned the European-African Middle Astern Campaign with four bronze stars.
He was a member of the Ashtabula Moose Lodge, VFW Post 943 and the American Legion.
He enjoyed golf, travel, horses, foreign languages and flying airplanes.
Survivors include his wife, Betty M. (Zigmont) Doyle, whom he married on April 12, 1960, in Cumberland, Md.; seven children, Frank Vegh, Debra L. McConnell, Lori L. Cole, Lou Ann Wilkenson, Collen Swartout and Deena S. Palmer, all of Ashtabula, and Lewis E. II of Englewood, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; eight sisters, Leah Ringer of Uniontown, Pa., Sally Kaydo of New Salem, Pa., Ada Gribble of Sparks, Md., Effie Hibbard of Painesville, Jacquline Rider of Uniontown, Pa., Carol Ann Zaccagnini of Uniontown, Pa., Margaret Kephart of Uniontown, Pa., and Patty Sue Kemp of Glassport, Pa.; and a brother, Jerry Doyle of Houston, Texas.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Robert, Ellis and Donald; and two sisters, Lois Durany and Catherine Doyle

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Frank L. Hocevar, 29, of Geneva died Wednesday, May 27, 1998.
Born Dec. 27, 1968, in Painesville, he was the son of William J. and Patricia (DeCola) Hocevar.
Mr. Hocevar worked as a highway crewman for the Ohio Department of Highways before becoming an apprentice electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
He was a 1987 graduate of Geneva High School where he played basketball. He enjoyed baseball, golf, hunting, pool and darts.
Survivors include his parents; two sisters, Tina Marie Fabel of Saybrook and Dawn Marie Waldmann of Cincinnati; two brothers, William Jr. of Madison and Christopher of Lyndhurst; a paternal grandmother, Stephannie Hocevar of South Euclid; and maternal grandparents, Mary and John DeCola of Mentor.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Frank Hocevar.

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Pa. -- Velma Irene (Harmon) Kinnan, 82, of Ridge Road, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998, at Inn-Conneaut Nursing Home.
Born Jan. 18, 1916, in Quincy, Mo., she was a daughter of Joseph and Cora Harmon Willis.
Mrs. Kinnon operated the Kinnan's Grocery Store in West Springfield more than 30 years with her husband, Leo, whom she wed on June 10, 1936.
She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, reading, and watching TV game shows, especially Jeopardy.
Survivors include a daughter, Bev Picard of Conneaut, a son, Bud of Platea, Pa., eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Darlene Kinnan and Carol Glasser; a sister, Thelma Clauson, a brother, Orville Harmon, and a stepbrother, Dorcy Willis.
A private service was Saturday at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, East Springfield, Pa., with William Picard officiating. Burial followed in Springfield Cemetery, East Springfield.

WOOSTER -- Carl J. "Jim" Maille, 67, of Fairview Circle died Friday, May 29, 1998, at home.
Born July 25, 1930, in Ashtabula, he was the son of Eugene and Elsie Malone Maille.
Mr. Maille was a computer systems analyst. He retired from AT&T in 1987.
From 1948 to 1952, he served with the U.S. Navy in the Submarine Service. He earned his bachelor's degree from Merrimack College.
He was a 10-year member of St. Mary Church and the Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Peters), whom he wed Feb. 19, 1983; three sons, John of Fremont, Calif. and James and Joseph, both of San Jose, Calif.; three grandchildren; his former wife, Cora Agricola, of San Jose; three brothers, John of Ashtabula, Paul of Brunswick and Kenneth of Cansfield; and a sister, Madlyn Cress of Ashtabula.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Louise Maille.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Ashtabula.

WINDSOR TOWNSHIP -- Maryruth B. Mullen, 82, of Route 322 West, died Tuesday, May 19, 1998, at Grand Valley Country Manor, Windsor.
Born July 1, 1915, in Hartford City, Ind., she was a daughter of James R. and Addie (Storm) Byall.
Mrs. Mullen was a secretary for the Grand Valley Schools, Orwell, for 10 years. She also was a registered nurse.
She attended the Windsor United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed gardening and was a devoted mother.
Survivors include a son, Larry of Orwell; two sisters, Garnet Becker and Janice Price of Indiana; a brother, Howard Byall of California; a granddaughter, Kristi Mullen; and a grandson, James Mullen.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond W., whom she wed on Feb. 22, 1936; a daughter, Donna; two brothers, Bruce and James Byall; and a sister, Vivian Schaen.

ASHTABULA -- Louis P. Veltri, 69, of Latimer Avenue, died Friday, May 29, 1998, at his home.
Born Jan. 25, 1929, in Ashtabula, he was the son of August and Murano (Domeninico) Veltri and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Veltri was retired from Penn Central Railroad. At the time of his death, he was a bagger at Finast Grocery.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and being with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Angeline (Cavanagh) Veltri, whom he wed on Nov. 10, 1962; two daughters, Michelle of Kingsville and Tina Gaggiano of Poland, Ohio; a sister, Theresa McDaniels of Georgia and a granddaughter, Michelle Gaggiano of Poland.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Service is 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1200 E. 21st St., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Michael Balash officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
