SCANNED TEXT:
JOHN ROGER BURNS "Jack" Sodality (1-2.3-4); C. S. M. C. (1-2-3); Inter- class Basketball (1-2-3); Debating (3); French Club (3); Library Club (3): Class President (4). Jack is another Senior who has strong ideas on the subject of woman's rights. He has ever been willing to argue on any question. His experience as an usher has developed in him a sure self-confidence, coupled with an erect manly bearing pleasing to the eye. Through the pest four years his forceful, friendly man- ner has earned for him e special place of his own. His high popularity culminated in his election as president of the Senior Class. We wish Jack the best of everything. PATRICK JOSEPH CARMODY "Paddy" Sodality (1-2-3-4), Prefect (3), Consultor (2); "Sancta Maria" Sports Editor; Varsity Football (1.2-3-4); Varsity Basketball (2); Varsity Base- ball (3-4); Debating Club (3-4), President (4); Class Secretary (3); Interclass Basketball (1-3-4); C. S. M. C. (1-2-3), Consultor (1-4): Dramatics (3). Good humored, generous, sensible, ener- getic, all these qualities spell our "Paddy." Despite his reserve, he has been unable to conceal his kind heart and keen mind. "Pat" has won universal popularity in high school, for he has ever proved himself a fine athlete and a grand pal. In speculating as to his choice of a career, (he is particularly silent on this point), we can picture "Pat" only in a position of high trust which requires courage, and a deep sense of justice. RUTH MIRIAM CANAVAN "Ruth" Sodality (1-2-3-4), Consultor (1); C. S. M. C. (1-2-3), Secretary (2), Consultor (3); Glee Club (1-2-3); Basketball (3-4); Debating Club (3-4); Dramatics (2-3); Class Vice-President (4). Sweet as peaches and cream, but with a special tang of her own, Ruth is a favorite. Possessing a disposition as sunny as her hair, she has gathered around her a charmed circle of friends. Forthright in her opinions, one of her strongest points is her common sense. She accomplishes a great deal without letting any- one know it. Ruth might well be characterized by three words, sensible, sincere, and studious. May you stride happily along through life, Ruth. 20
